Xmas break : Costa Rica , Zanzibar or Sharm - good Diving ?

Hi all - I need to clear 3 weeks hols by the end of Jan : this is my short list of destinations

I'd like to get off the beaten track a bit, somewhere warm , and also do a few days diving if possible . Vietnam is also an option - though I realise the divng is limited.

Any suggestions / comments / advice are welcome - including other destinations that may be suitable - is Indonesia a good diving location ?

I've been diving near Dahab(down the coast from Sharm) and near Pemba(island North of Zanzibar). Both were good and we saw lots of varieties of sea creatures however I'd say the Red Sea had better visibility.

I guess the time of year might affect visibility, we were there during the Summer so can't compare for winter.

Veitnam, Thailand, Malaysia...very good driving in Malaysia and Thailand, think it would be quite fun in Vietnam as well if you were on rented mopeds.

Costa Rica is great. Forget the driving. Just enjoy the scenery and surfing.

I was in sharm 3 weeks ago - water lovely and clear. It does have the advantage of being fairly cheap and lots of flexibility for booking.

Small Island called Ustica, off the coast of Sicily. I worked there as a Dive master in 1999,excellent diving for all levels,excellent food/wine,some of the nicest people I have ever met!
Well worth a look!

Zanzibar!

My cousin is doing some travelling at the moment, and I've seen one of the pictures from Zanzibar. It looks amazing!

So, going on the one photo I've seen, Zanzibar would be my choice!
