Calendar Club

My OH has been asking questions about a shop we went in today called calendar club in Meadowhall near Sheffield.

She says its only ever there at this time of year and she wants to know what the people do who work in the shop for the rest of the year and if they have managers just sat in offices twidling their thumbs.

I suggested maybe they put together the calendars deciding on which photos to use and so on but she didn't seem to buy this idea.

Maybe they end up selling easter eggs from 1st January then move on to swimming costumes nearer summer. I don't know and until I find out I won't be getting any peace!

They are looking after the kittens/puppies/pop stars and other subject matter featured in the calendars!

Calendar Club had/ has a shop year-round in Bristol, so perhaps it's just your area.

But who would want to buy a calendar in July when its too early to buy for next year and too late for this year.

Its a discount store.

Plus time travellers need to pop back at all kinds of times for old caledars to see them through years gone by.

The rest of the year they spend their time going on lots of dates.

Lots of these shops pop up over Christmas time.. I assume they just employ people for the couple of months. You can often recognise the hastily-assembled displays taking up residence in the usually-empty unit in your local shopping centre
