1. A piece of string circles the equator [assumed circular]. If you lengthened it by 1m, and formed a new circle, how much off the ground would it be ?

I have an answer, but wouldn't mind being checked......

I googled the circumference and it is 40075160m around the equator.
Can some one check my maths please?

If that figure is correct then as circumference = pi*diameter

Original diamter is: 12756319.618397200568383479677111m
With additiona metre to circumference: 12756319.936707086752174151214879m

So the extra diameter is: 0.31830988618379067153776m
So the extra radius is: 0.15915494309189533576888m

the slack (where it would be best part of the extra metre)?
