Democrat party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva, aged 44, has become the 27th and youngest prime minister of Thailand after receiving 235 votes from 431 MPs at the extraordinary parliamentary session on Monday.
He was born in Newcastle, to a pair of medical professors. Abhisit was educated at prestigious Eton college and then Oxford University where he graduated with first class honours in Politics, Philosophy and Economics.
Let's hope that Thailand gets back to normal soon enough but I doubt it.
Don't know if anyone's intrested in this but thought it was worth a mention.
