ks and don't expect to see any drop in my spending whatsoever... 
I'd placed an order for a 123d M-Sport back before the VAT cut was even mentioned. Because delivery isn't until next year, the order has been cancelled and rebooked by the leasing company - saving me around £650.
Can't complain. It's £650 in my pocket that would've been in the Government's coffers so I have a warm rosy glow about that one. Now, if they could work on bringing diesel prices back to something closer to petrol prices, I'll be a happy bunny.

Quite amazing that shops are doing all sorts of discounts and yet we begrudge them making a 2.5% extra on their profit, not their turnover. Its not like some of them are particularly viable as it stands.
So if they sell something for £10 and it costs £5 to buy, they make an extra 12.5p, and you lot are worried that its not being passed on? Retail companies are least likely to pass it on as its such an insignificant amount. The only places where you will see it is where VAT is added to the bill after the purchase, eg mobile phone bills and so forth.

Get real will you. Are you really expecting small shops and businesses to change all their prices with all the added costs that will take to change them . I'm guessing you've never run a small business.

But to answer the OP, the few pounds we may save is hardly going to amount to anything, and businesses short-term cashflow is reduced. In short a worthless gesture to most.....

I now get a penny back when I buy a large cuppa in the works canteen. This goes straight in the air ambulance collecting tin next to the till, which I think most people do (who wants a penny FFS)
So the air ambulance will get a significant hit - couple of thousand people each drink a a few cuppas every working day.... must be wworth a few bob....?>???
