Recommend me a home cinema system

Can someone advise me of a reasonable home system?
Looking to spend under £300 if poss.
Have got Sky HD be installed soon if it makes any difference. And i like my bass

Been looking at this one, Is it any good or is there beter for the money

Although I like Panasonic stuff you will always be better off buying seperates. i.e. AV reciever and speakers. Might cost a bit more though but needn't be mega money.

What are you looking for this system to do, just amplify sound or play DVD's / radio etc. If you're looking at option 1 check the Onkyo site for this : http://www.eu.onkyo.com/products/HTX-22HD.html

It's specifically designed for HD sources, and being Onkyo it's a cut above the normal high street stuff. The Panny that you suggest has a huge amount of power, but I suspect the Onkyo will deliver the sound much better.

Another Onkyo fan here just posting to add you get a 2 year warranty with them rather than the 1 year shown on the Richersounds site

You can get a DVD player for pennies while you save up for a decent one though.

I wouldn't let your need for a DVD player be the reason for getting an all in one jobby.

In fact I have a very decent Toshiba SD210e knocking about somewhere. Cost me £175 quid new (5 years ago though).

You can have that for £30, if you pick it up.

TBH I would look at the longer term get something like you have been shown and just a cheap DVD player to tied you over.

Might save up and get a £16 Asda Sony special for now and get a Blue Ray later.

You can buy an extra years warranty in RS for about £20. They dont rip you off like other elec wholesalers.
