When I get a call from a call centre my first question is "what country are you calling from?". If they are not in Britain then I refuse to speak to them, telling them politely that I only deal with British call centres.

Now this is certainly not a racist thing but merely my little protest against British companies moving their call centres abroad and shedding jobs in this country.

What does the PH Collective think?

Works well until you need to speak to them for something. Resetting password or something.

Then it takes an age to either get through or get someone to understand what you are trying to do.

You get good ones and bad ones. Contrary to the popular opinion of non UK call centres, I have found the Microsoft and Dell ones to be excellent, ditto Talktalk, Barclays.

However, I appreciate that ^^^ two swallows don't make a summer, so my experience could be the minority, maybe it is just luck of the draw as to who you get on the day.

The one I have always had grief with is the BT Broadband support line. Ironically, the issue I have isn't a failure of understanding due to language and accent but the quality of the line with is always really crackly.
