...in London.....it's rate one until 8.00pm.....then rate two until 10.00pm.....after that it is the most expensive which is rate three until I think 6.30 or 7.00am in the morning......

Got into an argument with one once, it was about 8am but he tried to charge us for the 12-7 price as 'we hadn't gone home from out night out yet'

He decided to charge us the correct price rather than have us not pay at all in the end.

outside of london in herts but said it went up after 11 i always thought it was midnight??

All areas are different. In my town normal time is up to 11pm, then it rises by 50% until 6am. Bank holidays are 50% all day, except for Christmas day which is double.

New years eve will be either 50% or 100%, again depending on the council.

FWIW I feel that surcharges should start at midnight and not 11pm. I think in some areas surcharges start at 10.30pm.

....in London.....as all the meters are sealed units it's impossible to fiddle the price/rate....the new rate automatically changes at each appropriate hour......
