I remember reading about the Samantha Bissett sotry a while back, absolutely horrific murder - I dont think her (Samantha's) body was recognisable such was the savagery.

Still, at least some closure for the Nickell family now.

If so, I bet hes about to come into soem serious money, if he hasnt already!!

Wimbledon Common. Colin Stagg was on remand for 13 months (and you can imagine what reception he got in prison). He did get a payoff quite recently, but given the circumstances it was less then he deserved.
However, the detective on the second case has just given a very honourable speech, absolutely apologising to Colin Stagg (and explaining that issues with the second case legally prevented him from doing so earlier). There are lesser men, including certain former Chief Commissioners, who could learn from that.

Aye I think Stagg got something around £700K.

I was also impressed by the speech by the assistant commisioner outside the court.

Was Samantha Bisset the young woman who was opened up and disected and her daughter was killed? Read about that in a book called "The Jigsaw Man"..

Yep thats the one. Napper is also suspected of being the Green Chain Walk rapist - over 70 violet attacks in & around south east London in the early 1990's.

also, what was the story of some lunatic killing a mother and kids years ago, he impaled the kids' bodies on fence spikes?

Given the treatment Stagg got from the other prisoners in the jail, 700k is, to quote a small magician, not a lot.

No it's nowhere near enough but I suppose he'll make a further few bob off the media, and he's written two books too so I dare say he won't be skint anytime soon.

Rachel's young son who witnessed the attack on his mother will be about 18 now. I wonder if he has any memory of what happened that day. I hope not.
