I managed to give up a 40 a day smoking habit this year, unfortunately as a result I have put on 4 stone in weight. Doe's anyone have any website recommendations for where I can find a day by day weight loss plan. I have googled it but seem to have found loads of rubbish that is just making me hungry. Thanks
Don't do Atkins. try the GI diet its easy and works plus it has the benefit of being healthy eating and lifestyle change rather than some daft fad diet. I started it 2 weeks ago and lost 8lbs the first week and 3 pounds the 2nd week . I am into my 3rd week and I have a pound already. After the first couple of weeks you will lose between 1 and 2lbs a week. my waist has really shrunk so has my gut. I am back in 36'' waist trousers now without the gut hanging over. Starting weight 15 stone 8lbs now 14 stone 11 lbs. my 1st goal is 13 stone and eventually 12 stone.
I am even thinking about using my £50 a month gym membership where I haven't been for 2 years.

Are you training at all - Going to the gym, cycling etc?Eat little and often:
by 8am - breakfast
11.30 - snack
1.30 - lunch
3.30 - snack
7.30 - dinner
9.00 - snack
Ensure each meal contains protein. Protein makes you feel fuller for longer, e.g. half a spoon of organic peanut butter is great with a chunk of carrot a banana. Boiled eggs
Avoid processed foods and wheat (rice, pasta, white bread), or go for wholewheat products instead. Avoid alcohol as much as possible (yeah, it sucks). Drink loads of water.
These are some of the basic nutrition principles I've been following whilst also working out with a personal trainer over the last three months. In that time I've lost 18 lbs in weight, have toned up nicely and built some good muscle, am generally a lot fitter and I've lost a total of 21 inches around upper body/waist/hips.
If you're committed, you'll do it. Good luck.

Thanks for the replys so far. I am a 45 yr old male ex smoker, I have never done any excercise before, but have been walking briskly up a hill local to me for two weeks, the idea being to get a bit more strenous in the new year, dont want to go mad and all that.
I need to get from 16st down to around 12st, I have been looking into the GI Diet but it seems to good to be true so havent started it(Which has allowed me to keep eating Fry's Chocolate Creams)
What I actually need is a list of how much, and what to eat for seven days or so, bearing in mind that I cannot cook very well.
I had a look at the "Body for Life" program but that seems quite complcated as well.

Scary. As in dangerous. At least it's tapered off. The GI diet defo is a good one; I am slim and always have been and generally eat the GI diet but for energy rather than to lose weight because it doesn't cut things out. Been following the GI diet since 2004. Try that with any other diet and see where that gets you.ShadownINja said:
