I am tired of reading that this is the perfect time of year to be single.

It's not, it's ste, fking ste....all you get bombarded with is happy little families on the tv, in the shops, at the school play....every fking place!!!

The reality is, it sucks to be single...chrimbo time or not.

And I am sure I am not the only one on Piston Heads to think this irked

Sorry, I am not having a good day, and am hoping by having a small rant, it may cheer me up a bit...well until I hit the pub this afternoon

It doesn't suck to be single.

Life's what you make it. It's only boring if you are boring yourself....

There is always someone to talk to or make friends with regardless of circumstances.

You just need to be pro-active.

Yes it sucks to be single, especially when you goto a works party and are sat at a table full of couples, or at meals out etc...

No easy way of getting out of the rut either, but I am sure the good stuff is just around the corner. biggrin

Am still too fresh in this relationship to do the whole parent thing at xmas as it may be a wee bit awkward biggrin

I think the media generally torture any of us who do not fit the whole "married with 2.4 kids, labrador, detached house, two new German built cars on the drive, two foreign holidays a year, flawless white teeth, perfect hair/skin/build" and you need to ask yourself how 'real' the cliche is to realise it's bks.

Think of it this way, if you do happen to chance upon someone this Christmas and have a brief but mutually fulfilling fling with them, at least you have no hubby to heap guilt anger and scorn upon you!
