Question for a sparky or someone who knows electrics...
Discussion
I'm putting up 10 fluorescent light fittings. I'm going to give them their own circuit off the consumer unit. Each has 2x 58watt bulbs.
If memory serves, fluorescent fittings have a much higher draw than their running rating when first switched on.
Can anyone advise what amps I should cater for when selecting the cable and breaker switch?
Thanks in advance
Tol

New circuit off the consumer unit is notifiable works isnt it?
Er, yes, on a quick search looks like it is. I'll have to check the rating on the existing lighting rings...Tol
ETA - ah, Part P notification is for "work in dwellings including any greenhouse, conservatory, porch and car port open on at least 2 sides." This is a commercial workshop, so exempt...
