Help - I need a nice cafe / bar nearish the M5

Ok PHers of the world (well, W. England), My mate is taking his female friend down to Bristol today and needs a nice place to stop about half way down from Birmingham just to split up the journey.

Does any one have a favourite place or good suggestion of a nice cafe / bar where he could jump off the motorway and have a coffee with his friend? Bearing in mind it'll be in the evening and everywhere will be dark, so impressive vistas will be out of the question. It's got to be somewhere nice-ish, rather than Costa Coffee at the services.
He'll be having a meal later on in Bristol so that doesn't need to be catered for.

I trust that there are some PHers with some favourite haunts and romantic venues in that direction!

edit: And on that same note, if you have a favourite bar / restaurant in Bristol to visit then please do share. I think he wants to head for the Clifton area of town. Cheers

Most places are going to be hell today because of the Xmas shopping. Why not drop into Tewkesbury, (Jnc 9) or Fromebridge Mill at Jnc 13.

Come off at the Michaelwood services about 2 miles before junction 14. As you enter the carpark turn left down the service road - at the end of the service road is a decent pub (I forget the name) that does a great sunday roast.

Ignore all the "no entry" signs (except the one that leads back up the M5), plenty of locals do the same
