To charge or not to charge, that is the question?

I hope this doesn't get silly and turn into a slanging match but
1) Do you think he'll be charged?
2) If not will it make the national news?
3) If charged, should all of the newsagents who sold the newspapers be charged as well?

But the 52-year-old publican said he was stunned to learn that the complaint had been made by an off-duty senior police officer from Nottinghamshire, who was on holiday in the region when he paid a visit to the Black Bull the previous Friday night.
Mr Mailer said: "This chap was in with a friend and their respective wives for a drink, and I had a chat with them. It was their first time in Northumberland.
Always on duty even when having a pint 'on holiday' Mr Mailer said: "This chap was in with a friend and their respective wives for a drink, and I had a chat with them. It was their first time in Northumberland.

Posting hypothetically, because I know nothing about the material that was seized by police, but "Took it all away" suggests it was more than just a couple of clippings. 1) Do you think he'll be charged?

Seeing a single paper with a racist headline suggests nothing about the political tendencies of the paper's editor, but plastering the walls with dozens of racially provocative clippings paints its own picture of the landlords thinking.
Pick any minority group you like, if they were to feel uncomfortable in a public place decorated with racially provocative material then, in today's PC world, an offence has been committed, and the landlord's fitness to hold a bar licence is questionable.

2) If not will it make the national news?
3) If charged, should all of the newsagents who sold the newspapers be charged as well?

George Orwell was right.
What boils my piss about things like this is that it's so far removed from the way we think over here in Americaland.
Before you rip into me for that, remember that back in the late 1700s we only revolted because we wanted the same treatment and respect as the English, and therefore created our society to mimic the ideals of British society.
Said policeman should be dragged into the street and shot. That Pub Landlord, IMNSHO, should have the right to put up Combat 18 posters if he wants to.

Warkworth is famed for it's "Who has the most toes?" competition.
Remember the pub scene at the start of An American Werewolf In London........................................................
Sorry Warkworth - I love the place really - just couldn't resist

That could get rather interesting, he shouldn't be charged for anything from how the article puts it. He should also get an apology from the chap making the complaint!
It turns out this guy is quite a popular publican and a little bird tells me there are going to be THREE demonstrations of support for him in Alnwick on the 23rd plus one outside the police station just before he reports there.I wonder if Northumbria Police have been infiltrated by BNP Fifth Columnists who are manipulating things to give the BNP positive press? If so it's certainly working for them in the region. Perfect timing really as the BNP are contesting a by-election seat in Newcastle in January
