I am going to take a deep breathe here and consult the knowledge of the P&P as to what to buy a very good female friend for Christmas. This female friend is coming to my house to spend Christmas with me and my family as hers are all either living abroad or going away for Christmas.

I am at a total loss at what to buy her. So far I have a High School Musical 3 calander rolleyes (she loves it.)

I have found out that she has spent around £100 on presents for me so somewhere around this sort of budget would be good.

I do have some ahem history with this girl and she does currently have a boyfriend so nothing thats going to over do it, I really am stuck here!!

I would go with just buying her lots of smaller presents - if she has a boyfriend and you spend a large amount of cash on a very personal gift then I would assume he'll be extremely miffed!

Mind you, not that you probably care if you think he's a t*sser!

If she's a good female friend, then surely you know what she is into...

But as above, lots of small things: CD she hasn't got? More of the same perfume she likes? Woolly gloves/scarf? A book (I hear A Brief History of Time is a good one - it's a non-gift, you're saying, "I think you're very clever and would find this interesting." and they don't even have to read it)? Subscription to one of those MP3 download sites so she can choose over the year? Magazine subscription package (seen them in Tesco in the magazine section; small boxes you can wrap; suggest buying her Evo cos then she will just hand them to you; you just say they must have made a mistake)?

I think I have to jump in and point out the obvious.

I think the kind of Christmas present she wants from you is , let's say, the kind that you make yourself. Don't bother buying anything. She is more interested in services than material goods I suspect..

Happy Christmas chap ! I suspect it will be a great one, especially if everyone else in the house clears off for a Christmas walk.. To send her the appropriate signal, buy her something that will remind her of when you were together.

Hang on,

You're due to spend £100 English Pounds on a young lady who

(a) Isn't a direct relation.
(b) Isn't going to have bouncy somersault times on the bed with you.

Are you stark, staring MAD?
