Is it any good? and can you get it on Sky without subscribing to Sky-Sports?

Some of the commentary can be shocking but they do show some good m'sport.

And yes, you can still receive it on Sky if you don't have the sports packages.

They show a great selection of motorsport.

But avoid 'the fast lane'.

you can get it without skysports, but you need the news/events pack added to your existing package

Maybe a new thread is needed for discussing that rubbish.

I give it a big thumbs up, lots of ALMS, FIAGT and V8 Supercars. The commentary can be really bad, as stated, but some of it is quite good, I like the FIA GT guys a lot.

+1

When Motors had LeMans the commentary firs absolutely first rate.

This year LeMans was on Eurosport and kept switching every couple of hours between the different Eurosport channels. When Motors had it the coverage was always un-broken (apart from the normal ad breaks) from about 12pm Saturday until 5 or 6pm on the Sunday.

If you have the flat sky package, you'll get Motors, Men and Motors, Eurosport 1 + 2, Discovery Turbo plus others I may have missed. Spread over them are numerous race events (Le Mans, GFOS, Silverstone Classic, F3, Formula Ford Festival, Formula Palmer Audi, Scottish races, GT, V8 Supercars, Ford Saloon racing, Time attack, MR2s, Drifting, Inside F1, <sharp inhale> Restorations, classic car programmes, Superbike school, BSB, GP, WSB, Rallying, AMA, car buying progs and much more. I'm not sure what is available on Sky Sports, but I've been chuffed to bits with the range of programmes on the channels listed above - and I didn't pay through the nose for them.

what do you mean by the flat sky package the 22 quid one with all 6 packages? you need to have the news and events package to get motors tv and eurosport

I only ever watch it for the Time Attack stuff because me and the OH have friends that compete in it but I'm suprised at just how much they actually cover.

My dad has mentioned that he gets it with his freeview package!

I'm on Virgin Cable, North London. For some reason, Motors TV wasn't available in my area until very recently. I've been e-mailing and 'phoning them for years asking why it wasn't available, from way back in the Telewest era.

Then, one day, about six weeks ago, there it was!!!!!

Now that I've got it, it has rapidly become one of my favourite channels, and this is the 'off season', with little live racing for them to cover. I can't wait for next year's motorsport season to get cracking!

My TV viewing life is now complete.

Yep. I've got the 5 pack mix (all but kids' mix), phone and 2mb broadband for £21 a month plus calls + BT line rental.
