Anyone likely to have a bust-up this Christmas !! ??
Discussion
Because it looks like I am !
It seems that over the Christmas break, dearly beloved members of the in-laws family are visiting.
Now the truth is that a significant number of the in-laws work in the public sector. Yep, they are lentilist left - thinking guardian readers with public sector pensions and a fully paid up membership with the Nu Labia fan club.
I can only grit my teeth and refrain from baiting them, while a part of me wants to set fire to them all with the brandy for the Christmas pudding.
Any advice to survive the next week?

Jump in feet first. Got to be the unfunded pensions attack.
The government will not be able to afford to pay them what they've been promised, so they are going to get screwed in the same way taxpayers have. You're only mentioning it as you are concerned for their well being and feel they should make additional provisions.

Just don't talk politics or the environment. However, if they mention it, tell them that it's their fault Brown is PM, what's the carbon footprint of a bottle of water, and at least you've got a proper job

The "well government pensions are no different to Madoff's hedge fund - both are a Ponzi scheme as they both fund their existing investor's returns with new investments." should shake them up a bit.
