Thinking of changing from Abbey...also with Halifax but due to their complete lack of interest after account fraud, refuse to give them any more business than I already do...what are your experiences or recommendations? BTW, I'm just looking for a basic current account.

Lloyds TSB have done me a splendid service for the past 15 years. Although this could be partly down to, at least recently, paying for a premium account which has the advantage of getting the attention of a branch manager who will normally hand over their direct line number hence bypassing Mumbai.

ummm Abbey seem to be doing okay for me at the moment (both personal & business).

However I have to vote HSBC and their cocktard 'may I pleeeze be having your accounting code and sorting numbers pleeeeeze' call center THE WORST!!!

'and can my brother offer you any broadbandings..?'

- so it's two for first direct in the early stages (I would have made a 'poll' but it looks like this forum doesn't support them - shame).

I pick up voicemail from Barclays quite a bit at work when they choose the wrong department. Can't understand a single word they are saying as their accent is so strong and they speak so quick. Far worse than HSBC IMO.

My lovely big, heavy hidden safe.

Crap rate of interest but great security (me and my Beretta/Mossberg).

No, uncommon here too. I'll let you know if they open a branch nearby; please do the same?
