under rated and show stealing actors/actresses

watched James Woods in 'Another Day in Paradise' the other day and had forgotten what a top class actor the fella is. certainly deserves to get more credit.

also a big fan of Steve Buscemi who always seems to steal the film, even if he only has a short role (like in Con Air).

anyone else have any other favourites who dont get the recognisation they deserve?

A personal fvourite is Robert Downey Junior. Not sure if he's "under rated" in many poeples eyes, but for me, he's outstanding.

And Johhny Depp too.

I think you right there.

He's now finally got himself sorted out now and is fulfilling his potential.

always been a great actor, but no one would cast him as he was an unreliable hellraiser.

These sort of actors prob don't want more credit, they get good roles, well paid, live a good lifestyle without all the hassle that can go with it. Agree with all suggestions so far would love to add one but mind gone blank for the mo! Will post once I've thought of one

However, I think Johnny Depp is one of the most OVER-rated actors.

Probably one of the most famous instances of this was Stephen Boyd in Ben Hur, he acted his nuts off compared to Heston, but due to Chuck's whines and vanities wasn't even allowed a nomination for best Supporting Actor. IIRC the film swept the board at the Oscars too.

one of the best bits of acting i have seen was by Michael Keating in My life about a guy with terminal cancer and a wife who is pregnant and the fact he will never see his child. stunning work but came out the same year as Philadelphia and tom hanks got all the admiration but keaton was in my eyes better, a chance in a lifetime part

A good film. bd thing caught me off guard when I first saw it, brought a lump to the throat I must admit.
