Designer Glasses
Discussion
Hi All,
I wear glasses for driving and have not purchased a new pair for a couple of years !
I'm thinking of getting some of those geeky looking bold frame ones that everyone is wearing.
Question is that even the designer brands seems un-exclusive and realitively in-expensive ? £110-200 for Prada, Gucci, Bvgari (sp) Hugo, Armani.....
Qestion, discounting the above which brand in the glasses sector is more exclusive...my budget would be £200-400 for the frames ?

ic-Berlin. Best frames I've ever had. Super lightweight and practically indestructable.
Made of metal but also available in black.
They are a dedicated glasses manufacturer, rather than a fashion brand that has glasses made for them in China.
(I think their fames are still made in Berlin) Personally I prefer to buy well made products rather than well publicised brands, if you know what I mean.
Quite hard to find suppliers. £400-£500 with lenses. Exclusive enough for ya?

These guys do them in London - there may be others.

IMO £110-£200 is a waste of money. They're all made in the far east and you're simply paying for the label to be seen - and what sort of people go "wow, a pair of Gucci sunglasses"?, nobody will really notice. You can get pretty much the same styles (or better) for about £20. Alos, if you forget them somewhere or break them, as you invariably will, it won't matter

Gant.
Both of those make nicer specs than the ones you've listed.
You're all slacking! Where are the usual posters that provide links to the £10000 glasses that they brought two pairs of - cause they couldn't decide between the black frames or the lovely tortoise shell?
I guess they are in Sandy Lane, on the beach, tanning themselves in a pair of Ralph Versace speedos.

I've worn glasses since i was 3 (about 18 years now).
I'm absolutely sick of wearing them!
I've had adidas, calvin klein, Moschino, Osaka, Boots own, specsavers own, ralph lauren & every other name under the sun.
I'm getting my eyes lasered next year (hopefully my eyes will be suitable).
I could'nt imagine anyone wanting to wear glasses they're fecking s
te & a bane of my life!

But joining the opticians loyalty card scheme I saved 25% on the frames and 10% on the lenses bringing them down to about £470. Still a weighty chunk of cash though...
It's £10 a month for the gold card scheme thing and i also got 25% off my GP toric contact lenses (about £50) and half price solutions for the year. 25% off all sunglasses too so i got £20 off a pair of oakley sunnies.
Expensive bloody business.
