intercity link problems so need advice please

hi all

had a parcel sent to me on tuesday and aparntly acording to intercity link they tried to deliver it on the thursday but no one was home and then tried again on friday but same again nobody at home .

i no for sure there was someone at home cause been waiting in since wensday for it .

was given a refrence number saying it had been left at a neigbours house and signed for by smith , they have not left a calling card saying a parcel has been left which i found odd .

been 3 houses each side of mine to see if they have had anything and there trustworthy pepole that look after my house and got spare keys for when am away .

but still no parcel

any ideas what i should do next ??

Intercity link?

Do you mean either "Initial City Link" or "Interlink Express"?

City Link are usually gash so if you ever manage to get your hands on whatever they're delivering without it being smashed to bits, consider yourself lucky.

Ask them for the proof of delivery which will be a scan of the actual signature and the notes made by the delivery driver.

Unfortunately, it is possible for couriers to leave parcels with random neighbours and you can't do much about it unless you've got the sender to specifically instruct them not to do it.

I had an important delivery to a client left at a house 4 doors down from them and then the occupants went on honeymoon, so nobody could get the parcel back for a week!

thank all going to try call there depot closist to me in the morning and was city link .

i just find it very strange that no calling card was left to be honest .

Sounds a bit dodgy that there is no card. I'd ring them and see what they have got to say, they should know what number it was delivered to. If not contact the supplier, I think it's their problem not yours.

We had a funny one a couple of years ago, my new PC was arriving, hubby saw the van pull up outside and the chap juggle and drop one of the boxes out of the back of the van. When he got to the door hubby indicated that he wouldn't be signing for the PC as it had been dropped and the guy lied his head off, claiming he hadn't dropped it FFS he was outside the house he was delivering to, did he really think he was going to get away with it!

Ring Citylink and they should have the number of the house on the delivery record, providing of course the driver actually noted it on his sheet. Its standard procedure for some couriers to try neighbours unless instructed not to but they should leave a card saying its left instead of leaving the neighbour to drop it round.
