So 3 is bad but just how bad - please be straight.

Impossible to say.
What happened, how long ago? A change in GCS is more relevant (and it can only improve from 3).

In lay terms, GCS 3 means unconscious and unrousable.

If 2 mins after a bang on the head very different to if 2 days after a head injury.
