The Post office

I hear nothing but people moaning about them.

I posted 14 xbox games that I had sold on ebay last Friday afternoon at about 4.30pm. 9 of them arrived the next morning (4 of which went to Northern Ireland!).

4 arrived on the Monday and the last on the Tuesday. They were sent first class and cost about £1.40 each.

Posted from a little post office in a village 30 miles from the nearest decent sized town/city.

I think that's pretty good service!

I think Royal Mail bashing is very easy. If I order something online and it arrives next day, i praise the online company, even if RM had a lot to do with it being delivered in less than 24 hours.

(as an aside, big praise for wiperblades.co.uk. Fastest order to delivery time ever and during Christmas)

Thumbs up from me, especially during the festive period. I have purchased things on the internet which have turned up the next day when not sent be any "special" means.

Also our post man has taken the initiative and when things need signing for but fit through the letter box they have "self signed" which has saved me a trip to the post office.

On the other hand my boyfriend sold 2 games on Ebay, posted 1st class, one to Scotland the other to Norfolk. Two days later he got an email from the Scottish buyer saying that a torn open and now empty packet had arrived, the next day he got another email from the buyer in Norfolk saying that they too had received an empty packet. Some postal worker at his local sorting centre had simply ripped the packets open, taken the games, and the obviously damaged and empty padded envelopes had been sent on.

I send a lot of stuff and so far I have not had anything disappear, but I know a LOT of other people that have had problems (I know someone that sent out 5 packages, mostly clothes and make-up, in one day and none of them arrived).

The service works fine for me, it's some of the scum bags that work there. I've had half a dozen christmas cards arrive ripped open. I'll never send cash or vouchers by post.

I had some car parts delivered from Atlanta in Georgia to Columbus in Ohio, about 600 miles. I called the car parts company at 5pm on one day and the courier was knocking on the door at 7am the following morning. They said they would deliver before 9am in the morning.

That's what I call a delivery service.

I got some macbook pro memory delivered to me yesterday, I wasn't in so they left me a note saying (left with no.10 across the road)

It was only posted the NIGHT before.
