50 inch or 60 inch

Ok parents want a new telly. It has to be minimum of 50 inch as its a huge room. This is the one we are leaning towards at the moment

I'm sure the difference is the 81 has freesat built in. If your parents already have sky or similar they won't need this. I don't know what sort of budget they've got but imo it has to be a pioneer kuro plasma!. Try digital direct for more info.

Depends on how into technology they are.

My Samsung 50inch bought 3 months ago was only £599 from John Lewis.....seems fine to me although no doubt it is missing some features, but haven't noticed any yet

They already have sky but my dad does not seem too keen on the Samsung tellys for some reason...

Is there a 1080p 60 inch telly in this price range?

just bought the new 52inch samsung lcd 1080p and it is incredible!. Make sure u get the 100hz version - it comes with free bluray player

I have the 60 inch LG. It's in a large games room and only really used for dvds/xbox/wii etc with only very occasional real "tv" use. Despite doing all the measuring up before hand I was surprised how physically big a 60 inch telly really is. It can dominate even in a large room, and I wouldn't really want one as my main viewing tv. As a novelty type of thing, or specifically as a gaming display it is awesome, but awesome in a sort of ott way.
