Not Drinking?

Who out there just doesn't feel the need to drink?

I am at my mothers house for the next couple of days, with my brother (17) and I just am not inclined to drink. Have had a nice dinner, and now just watching some TV with a can of coke.

I am not a teetotaller, I just am not in the mood, and don't feel that I need to, who's with me?

Barely touched a drop this year really, no particular reason or motive, just haven't bothered.

Well, I'm taxi service for "the wife" tonight, going the pub. I'm not drinking due to having to drive, but I'm sure I'll get thanked somehow...

I mean I have got a Leffe box set, consisting of four bottles, 6%,7%,8%,9%. But I think getting drunk in front of my parents is embarassing..

Gave up drinking back in January, mainly because I was on a work event for 9 days solid with the exec team there and didnt want to make a tt of myself.

Problem is when you've not had a drink for a while (few months) the stuff you used to drink tastes awful and you cant handle more than 2 pints without getting a hangover there and then. Home by 10pm isnt a good look, so I stick to J2O's if I'm out

I've nominated myself as the designated driver for the last month or so and it's not really bothered me that much. Plus the money I've saved is great! A night out that would of cost circa £40-£50 in booze and taxis costs me less than a tenner.

Nope, the exact opposite.

The "losers" are the ones who think it's cool to drink until they are sick - which does seem to be a very British problem of people here in their 20s.

As a certain Mr Tilbrook once said "by the time i'm sober I've forgotten what i've had" very true.

My parents were publicans for several years so I grew up as a kid seeing how pathetic many people become after a drink or two. I decided I didn't ever want anyone to look at me the same way I was seeing them, so I never started drinking alcohol.

I know it sounds a bit sanctimonious now, but as a kid it really had a strong effect on me, so I stuck to it. Nowadays I don't mind in the slightest if others drink, but I still don't.

I never drink on Xmas eve, i think it spoils the magic somewhat waking up with a massive hangover

That mmc, not everyone needs a drink, I do admittedly but others can cope with the crap life throws at them without resorting to alcohol
