... just finished all the peeling and prep work everything ready to go.

Sitting here on my lonesome and relaxing before the mad rush.

Time for my first glass of red wine and nO $^*** corkscrew to be had anywhere! silly

Now do I chance being a little further gone than planned and open the bottle of Jamesons?

This has happened to me before on occasion ....

Philips screw driver, just push the cork into the bottle.

Be careful as there will be a lot of back pressure then suddenly it will go but workes every time there is a cricis!

Push it into the bottle or smash the top off of the damn thing. You WILL get into that bottle.

Check it isn't a screw top!

Push the cork in with a Phillips screwdriver - in fact, you can just screw the screwdriver into it and pull the cork out biggrin

There was a curious trick where you would repeatedly tap the bottle, and the cork would make its way out, but that might only work on fizzy pop.

Just do what I did and watch the nice bottle of red roll out of the boot of your car onto the concrete drive, that opened it pretty fast frown

Got a drill?
Failing that, I'm at a loose end until the in laws turn up - I could drive over with my Swiss Army pen knife which HAS a corkscrew. I'm in Cumbria!!

Wood screw and a pair of pliers. Don't knock the cork into the bottle with a screwdriver. Thats grim.
