Need to buy a new oven - supplier suggestions?
Discussion
As the title says we need to buy a new built in double oven, we've got a gas one in the unit at the moment but I think we'll probably go with an electric one this time.
Is there anyone in this market that can get us a good deal? And/or any suggestions for decent suppliers?
We haven't got a fortune to spend but I'd rather have a decent brand than something cheap that is going to be crap. Presumably something like Bosch, Neff would be good.

I got a double Bosch cooker on ebay - at £375 incl delivery it was half the £750 price in Currys etc. It was a graded one supposedly (customer returns, ex display etc), but they talked me through 'the scratch' on the phone, which I never actually found once it arrived...it was as good as new. Also got a fridge/freezer from them.
I can't remember the name of the supplier, but they were pretty well established. I'll have a look in my ebay feedback and see if I can find 'em.

As you said, Bosch and its related companies (Neff and Siemens) are the best integrated double ovens on the market. When i stopped working in the industry, Miele only did extra large double ovens, not normal sized, if they've changed this they would be the best quality, with Bosch et al closest behind.

Have you got a power point for an elec oven to connect to? If you're on a budget then getting the thing connected might blow a hole in your budget. Is there anyone in this market that can get us a good deal? And/or any suggestions for decent suppliers?

It might be helpful to know whereabouts you are - often there are places selling dented appliances quite cheap and for something uilt in then as long as the front is OK the rest of it doesn't matter.

We're Devon/Dorset border but I'm in Bristol during the week, we've also got a big covered trailer so as long as someone would load it I could go and collect if necessary. Returned and dented would probably suit us fine, we don't care whether it's black or stainless steel (prefer non white though).
It's slightly stopgap (few years) as we've moved into Dad's and we're building him an extension next door, his kitchen is OK for now with the addition of an oven that works as realistically it'll be three or four years minimum before we're in a position to refit the kitchen.
Neff did make brilliant ovens and we had one of the fancy ones where you could cook sausages on one shelf and bake a cake on another with no risk of cross flavouring or other contamination - it were bloody good. We now have an Neff oven, ostensibly of the same standard (certainly cost!) in which everything you cook coats the inside with fat or residue, is a total b
d to clean and you wouldn't dream of cooking two different things in it as they would both come out smoked.
My advice is to read the specs vary carefully and to consider some of the cheaper brands too. You might check out John Lewis for advice, even if you buy elsewhere, as their people really do know what they are talking about (and we didn't, second time around, before you ask....).
