Step-down Converter

I have a Japanese rice cooker that I want to use here in the UK - can anyone recommend a suitable voltage converter for this? It's rated at 100v & 1230 watts, so I think I'll probably need one around 2000w?

Can anyone recommend one, happy to pay for a good quality one that won't burn the house down.

It's a top-of-the-range Zojirushi, which was carried over from Japan by my GFs mother, so I'd rather not blow it up if possible!

Well you will need something the size of a tool transformer for that.

For 2KW you will need a big tranny. I would go for an industrial one and stick it in a cupboard out the way.

Yup that's the job. We use them for touring bands when they need to use their own electrical items.

Can never seem to buy USA sockets here though? Hmmmmmm Ebay plan.
