My missus watches quite a few cookery shows; some I don't mind, e.g. Floyd, Stein and obviously, Nigella.
But there's one that really winds me up - I don't even have to see her sack o'taters face - just hearing her voice grates on me... Missus says, "she's the American version of Nigella." According to who, the Americans, or her fat, lard-arse self?

Yes, but even so, what the hell meaning does it hold? Barefoot Contessa? Why damnit why? I need to know.What is the meaning of this word contessa? I will embark on an internet journey to find out..
