What the fk is this all about? Marlboro Lights packet I just bought is now all black with raised silver & gold embossing all over it, like a cheap airport novel.

"Icon Of Quality" written on it or some such bks.

Since when have they ever needed to embark on a rebranding exercise, they must be the most well known brand in existence.

The effect is diminished somewhat by the lovely picture on the back, mind hehe

They've given up on the "Smoking Kills" campaign and are now trying to shame you into quitting.

Actually, you say that, but the warning's have got less "final" lately. This one's got "Smoking seriously harms you" rather than "kills you".

The last packet I bought I was quite worried as it said it could harm my baby.

I haven't had anyone running up to me calling me dad yet.

Around about 1990, you got vouchers in your Marlboro pack. Once you'd collected enough, you could send off for a free gift.

I've still got the pair of RayBan Wayfarers in their Marlboro logo'd pouch I sent off for.

I've still got a brown Marlboro wallet from one of their promos. Used to have a Zippo as well

I *think* they are trying to stop cigarettes being branded as 'light' because people see them as a healthier option.

If it was the same promo I still have the overnight bag and a coat from it smile guess they are not allowed to do things like that anymore

last run before they were forced to put pictures on the back of packs - nothing more than a PR exercise

Then their timing is shocking - there've been photos on the back of the packs here for a good few weeks

I got a few Zippos and a baseball club by saving up my 'pull's'

A mates mum used to smoke Embassy, she saved up enough and got a garden shed.

Aha, then I curse all marketing types for not getting the product to market quick enough. A-HA!

(to clarify, I've been buying cigs for 3 months now and have seen nothing of the new branding until tonight)
