I think she should get this. slightly smaller but far better in my opinion.

Neither - Panasonic 42PX80 depending on the distance being sat from it.
If as is typical, 10-12', then a 1080p TV is pointless, even if B-R movies are being viewed regularly.
Either stump up the ££ for a 65" at that distance, or make do with an HD Ready TV.
Simple as that really.
