House alarms & pets

I've been thinking about getting a house alarm but I now have 2 cats.

This may sounds a very silly question, but if house alarm sensors work on movement, how do people with pets cope? Do you just have door sensors, do you set the sensors at particular heights etc?

Any advise would be helpful, cheers!

Get ones for pets. Readily available.

You can have it set up to inhibit zones / sensors as required when you switch it on.

Otherwise how could you move about inside the house with the alarm on.

We switched our PIR's over to pet friendly ones and had no issues (they have some sensativity adjustment in them too I remember).

Easy to do yourself and available cheap(ish) online.

Just get one with POE sensors.

We also made sure that the alarm only rang outside the house if set off, so not to terrify our cats. Yes it was still loud, but not as loud.

I bought my cat one of these suits, works on the same principles as the Stealth fighter.

Seriously You combine PIR's and VIPERS. PIR's where the pet can be excluded from and VIPER's on any access point outside those areas. VIPER's are vibration sensors used on Windows and Door frames designed to trip when the Window or door frame is hit, VERY VERY Hard.
