Chernobyl on Discovery

Just caught the end of this and was amazed at the scale of the misery and damage.
So I did a wiki on the cause of it all and was sickened by the deceit, dishonesty, ineptitude and sheer bloody stupidity of it

The disaster was a product of a typical communist heirarchy. Stupid people ultimately in charge with intelligent middle management and workers too scared to speak up.

It was a product of many things, poor design, cost cutting and human emotion played a part too

ETA I was part of an EU audit team of an RBMK (Chernobyl) type plant some years after Chernobyl - fascinating machine.
