Holidays in South Africa - 3yr old + Pregnant Wife!

Need some help from the collective PH's
We are going to a wedding next May in a place called Magasliesburg, which apparently is about 60km from Johannesburg.
Really struggling to work out what to do as my wife will be 6 months pregnant and our daughter will be nearly 3; here are my thoughts;
1. I go on my own - not really an option as they are very close friends
2. Take the missus and leave our daughter with grand parents and we go for a long weekend. Seems a bit extravegant!
3. Take the entire family and treat it as a family holiday.
Question is - what would people suggest / or have done for a weeks holiday around Johannesburg with a pregnant wife and a 3yr old? The obvious one is a child friendly safari - but I reckon our daughter would last about 30 minutes!
Other option is a resort holtel - any suggestions in that area?
I've also got to think about my wifes comfort - 6 months pregnant, 12 hour flight in economy and yes she has just asked if we can go business!

There's nothing worse than fat people and crying kids on a plane journey
On a serious note, my mate went last year! He enjoyed it. Was kept busy going safari type excursions, and said there were some decent food about aswell.
He didn't have a kid with him, but I'm sure it wouldn't have made much of a difference.

Now if you said Cape Town, then thats different.
To me, just my opinion, Jo'burg doesn't have ANY atttraction, not as safe as one would like it to be.
Why do all the Jo'burgers etc, come to Cape Town for the holidays.
What does your missus think? She's the one going to be carting around a baby inside her.
Unless it's really important, I probably wouldn't go at all.
I'd check that the airline you want to use will even let someone 6 months preggers fly at all. All airlines have different limits for long and short haul. I think some are 28 weeks with notes from midwives and all sorts of nonsense.

Now if you said Cape Town, then thats different.
To me, just my opinion, Jo'burg doesn't have ANY atttraction, not as safe as one would like it to be.
Why do all the Jo'burgers etc, come to Cape Town for the holidays.
If you're just passing through though, make sure you have a lift sorted out from the airport.

He's not going to jo'burg, he's going 60km away from it, its not some kind of death radiating cesspit.But yeah I'd choose option 4 too.
