I've decided to quit going to the devils kitchen. After getting mullered christmas eve i havn't touched a drop since and don't plan on doing so. Anyone else quitting?
ps i'm 33 and have been an avid once a week drunken bum since the age of 17.

Aye, will do the month of Jan like last year. Might do 6 months this time. See how I feel at the end of that if I want to drink again.

Used to drink five or six pints a night whilst driving round the rural pubs in the old days.

Always used to feel crap in the mornings and realised how much better I felt after that time consuming thing called marriage stopped me indulging.

Not planning to. I never get hammered anymore (age and 2 very young children sees to that...) but I'd not want to go without my couple of glasses of wine a day, even though it'd probably do me good.

I quit drinking about 2 years ago and really don't miss it at all. Being sober on a night out is really quite a refreshing experience smile

Did your drinking become a problem ? (No need to answer, bit of a personal question really)

I never really saw the attraction in drinking - im one of those who falls asleep after a drink, I can do that anyway! Nowadays my tipple is Magners, as I love the taste - but its maybe 2 pints a month, max!

After a particular heavy bender in Munich on the plane on the way back I decided to give up coffee and alcohol for a month... the alcohol was no problem and i only started about 2 months later after I started getting fed up with orange juice, and mates raking the pee when I ordered a shandy...

Coffee however was a different matter, after 2 weeks I thought I was fine, but I got marched into the directors office, and presented with a strong cup of filter coffee and told to drink it or I was fired hehe apparently I was a little grouchy, and everyone was terrified to go in my office... I thought it had been quiet

No alcohol for January. Did this a couple of years ago just to prove to myself I could so will do so again. Managaed January and September so I feel 2 dry months a year is good enough for me!

I quite drinking for a month earlier this year while training for cycling and I really did enjoy waking up on saturdays and sundays at 8AM feeling fit as a flea.

I was going to do try and do two months after New Years Eve but over christmas i've picked up a sinus infection which I have today been prescribed antibiotics for so will be tee total from now...didn't even get to have one big final piss up!

I love a drink, but you get so much more out of your weekends when you don't drink.
