Holiday Ideas PLEASE

Ok. I have enough airmiles to fly my wife and I anywhere in world excluding Australia and the far east. Where should I go on holiday? I like adventure stuff but my wife doesn't really (except horses!).

I have been on quite a few beach holidays and fancy something a bit different. Any recommendations welcome!

I recommend Peru for something a bit different.
It is a holiday with everything in it. One day you are up in the Andes with sights like Maccu Piccu the next you are floating down the Amazon through dense jungle.
If youve got the flights covered it is pretty cheap too.

Thanks. I really fancy something like that as I love trekking. Not sure if I can persuade Mrs Gman to climb up to Maccu Piccu though.

If you can persuade her to go I reckon I have more fantastic memories of that trip than any others and Im reasonably well travelled.

What about something in the midwest of the states, somewhere like Kentucky for a ranch holiday. Plenty of horses and i'm sure depending on where you go you'd have enough to keep you amused.

How about South/Central America? Maybe somewhere like Belize which is beautiful and there are lots of places to go explore. Or maybe if you’re feeling more adventurous you could go to Venezuela and see Angel Falls. Canaima National Park is supposed to be spectacular.

Also, if it was me I’d also be looking at somewhere like Denver. I’m not sure of seasons but a chance to go skiing in the Rockies and seeing the Broncos play a football game would be amazing for me. I’m not a massive American football fan but I’ve always really liked the Broncos and going to the new Mile High stadium is something I’d love to do.

I've currently got over 1 million BA miles but don't often get a chance to use them. The trips I have done in the past with these are Sydney, San Francisco, Cape Town and Chicago. Only problem is that you still have to pay all the taxes/fuel surcharges etc , so not exactly free flights. They're only of real value booking premium seats, since these can't be found for cheap money unlike economy class where it's often better just to buy a normal ticket that's on special offer.

Seeing as your wife rides I reckon a horseback safari is the way to go. I've not safari'd by horse but somewhere like Botswana is mind-blowing on foot or in a Landy so it would be even better this way. Kenya is stunning too if you go to a park that's not too busy.

And you don't have to be a great rider to do it...

What is the place called they did the water-based bit at the end? Looks a bit like the Krabi/Phuket area bay in Thailand with all the limestone cliff islands.
