Whilst enjoying a cold pint of lager at lunchtime, I was perusing the local rag (The Scotsman) and read an article about the dangers of throwing sticks for dogs. Having grown up with several dogs, it was no surprise to me that someone vaguely official (their title escapes me for now) had opined that dogs can, and do, suffer some nasty injuries by running onto sticks thrown by their owners.

Unfortunately, however, any gravitas in the article was somewhat destroyed (and resulted in a wasted mouthful of precious beer), by the following quote :

"It is a bad idea, to give dogs wood."

Any other 'howlers' (arf) that anyone else has come across?

am sat here laughing like a loon.
Ta for that.

Ma's local paper years ago had a piece about my headmaster discussing drugs at the school. It went over two pages and was along the lines of:

"Mr Smith urged people to alert teachers about the problem, saying "If any pupils or parents know or suspect the use or whereabouts of drugs, contact a member of staff and we will deal <cross over to the other page> it."

Err...cheers teach, an eighth and a couple of pills please.
