New Year In London
Discussion
Hi folks.
Off to an event in London, pretty much in the centre called Bang09 at Queens University Student Union.
However, having said that, I now cannot get tickets (a late decision to join people).
I am not familiar of New Year in London. Firstly am I likely to get tickets on the door for this event (if anyone knows) and secondly is there any other half decent places nearby that are not 17 quid for half a shandy.
I can get address if need be, but it is on the bank of the Thames overlooking the Eye and Parliament. Much appreciate any help from any seasoned London traveller or residents

If they've sold out capacity then you won't get in unless you know the promoters. Depends how good a night it seems, as to whether they've any capacity.
As for other places, there will be plenty going on, but pretty much everywhere is going to cost a fair whack.
that place was 15 quid entry. As for other places, there will be plenty going on, but pretty much everywhere is going to cost a fair whack.
around where i live (oop norf) there are pubs galore just to nip in for the odd one. is there likely to be this down there?
This is on at Kings SU.
The event is on Facebook, and the impression I get is that it seems pre ticketed only.
Try calling this number and see if you can speak to the organiser and find out what the situation is going to be. 02078481559.
As for pubs, I think most will charge some entry fee, so you can't just wonder in for a pint. The locals round my GF's way seem to selling tickets for the night.
Anyway, good luck! If nothing else, the fireworks are amazing and there tends to be decent atmosphere around town.
