My best mates uncle....stomach cancer. Hung on till 2009 the old bugger, and thankfully didn't start showing signs of being ill till 4 wks ago.

If you delve into the details you'll find things like no escape doors, or they were locked and chained if they had them at all. No fire system. No fire alarms. Overcrowded etc etc.


I've read nothing on the actual story, but lived over there for a decade or more. Seen it happen before. The Ozone disco fire in Manila ten years ago: escape doors wouldn't open, as houses had been built across them!!!! Security locked and bolted the front exits when the crowd started to rush out, 'to save a stampede'. I think some 150+ people died in that one.
