Gents, need a couple of these for daughters (7 and 10) for bedrooms - have done a google and dixons turned up with a SONY CMT-EH15 for £50 - don't want to spend much more than £50 or £60, so to the untrained eye (mine) it looks half reasonable. Realistically it will not be used out side of their rooms, so no need to be 'portable'...

Sister has one to that model in her bedroom. She's had it 5 years or so and I've not heard any complaints about it. I used it a couple of years ago when I was recuperating from an operation and stayed at my parents; quality and loudness seemed fine for what it is... suitably bassy for trance/dance. Actually, given how kids are, you might want to get them something weaker unless you like the sort of music they listen to. biggrin

Haven't got one of that exact model, but recently bought a Sony micro with tape, cd and DAB for about the same price and it's excellent. Very good quality throughout, only proviso being small speakers means sound quality suffers if you want it REALLY loud, but I suspect you don't want big volume from your daughter's bedrooms! thumbup
