Quite typically my dishwasher decided to give up the ghost shortly before people started arriving on new years eve. Misery.

It gets toward the end of the cycle and trips the mains out, then you can't turn it on without it tripping the mains again for another day or so. It has also tripped the mains when the door was opened with the power on. I suspect it's either a wire in the door that's had the insulation rubbed off or water or steam getting into the 'lectrics. Any ideas?

Assume it pumps out at the end of the cycle, so check around the pump area / waste etc for a leak or worn wire. Maybe the pump itself is knackered.

IMO anything that mixes water and mains shouldn't be messed with unless you are VERY sure what's going on wink
