Happy 2009 everyone. Well, I spent the first day of '09 praying to the porcelin gods if you know what I mean. The strange thing is that I didnt have too much to drink at all, yet I was throwing up the entire next day, so much so that I hit rock bottom in my stomach and I was puking up bile. smile

I was hacking so violently one would have thought I devoured alcohol the entire day leading up to '09 or something. Sometimes only a few drinks mixed incorrectly can lead to such dizziness and a hangover. Let me not do that again!!

It wasnt until almost 7pm at night that I began to feel good enough to scower my kitchen for food and water. Thank god I was able to keep it down.

To be honest I took a few pulls of some 'herbal' medicine to calm my stomach and reduce my dizziness. I swear, its a miracle drug because I beleive it was the only thing that allowed me to keep anything down.

So how was the 1st for all of you? Recoup? Relax? Get things done? Or sick as a dog?

And to think I seriously believed that I would put together the elliptical machine I bought and start using it on the 1st hehe
thats better left for today...that is once I get out of this hell hole called work.

I wasnt too bad, only a slight hangover, which was surprising as I had a bucket of Vodka the night before.

I'm thinking mixing with Ginger Beer has some magic anti-hangover properties.

Had the obligatory champers at midnight though.

Spent most of the day playing PS3 with the boy and reading.

Not drinking for 2 months and then drinking at a pace of around 3 pints and hour is not recommended. Yesterday was mostly spent in bed and the new years resolution is the same as last year. No more drink for me.

You gotta keep that alchohol tolernce up. A few months ago I went out after not having drunk for 5 weeks, after just 4 (different) pints I was throwing up everywhere.

The bile puking is not good though, reminds me of the "night of 19 Coronas" the next day I wanted to die, I couldn't even drink water until 7pm without throwing it all back-up again. Dehydrated, puking and worst headache ever....

That is nasty! To be honest I could feel the gritty acid of the bile on the back of my front teeth. I took the few seconds of relief one gets after throwing up to brush my teeth, however the smell of the little bit of alcohol in the toothpaste induced my gag reflex and I was right back on the floor in front of the toilet again.

So I just swished around water until I could try again later

For next time, don't brush just rinse your mouth with water....brushing with a mouth full of acid is a definite no no.

ETA best mates a dentist by the way.

Thanks for heads up, I do remember reading the same thing somewhere, but I forgot. Supposedly it chips away at the teeth and imbeds the acid even further?

I've had a rotten (ie. worst for years) cold over Xmas and New Year and conseqently not much sleep.

I had a fair amount to drink on NYE (though not a major hangover quantity) and then found the Night Nurse that Mrs Orb(s) had got me. Something told me that it would be a good idea to neck 3-4 times the recommended dose of this vile green muck cos I was soooo sick of being racked by coughs, sweats, shivers and sneezes.

I spent yesterday in a very peculiar feeling state. I'd swap it for a hangover any time frown Needless to say I won't be touching that stuff ever again.

By green muck, are you implying cough medicine? If so, given the doses you took of it, I believe the "very peculiar feeling state" was a mild case of robo-tripping, i.e. that is to say enough cough medicine ingested with the only active ingredient DXM can cause LSD like states.

Yes, some cheap thrills can be had by downing bottles of cough mixture. Not recommended.

I had shedloads to drink on NYE - total memory loss drunk. Luckily my hungover wasnt too bad in itself however the 2h30m transpennine express home wasnt pleasant.
