Putting cd's onto itunes in mp3 or wma?

Any idea how to do this? At present, any cd's i put onto itunes are in AAC format and i need to have them as mp3 or wma. Do i need some converting software or is that just when converting songs bought from itunes?

there's a preference in iTunes that allows you to swap to mp3 I believe.

mp3 are more easily played than wma

In iTunes, select Edit/Preferences/Advanced/Importing and click the drop-down next to "Import Using".

You can select MP3, but there's no choice for WMA. Personally, I think AAC-encoded music sounds better than MP3, but you can play MP3s on anything whereas of course you need an iPod or iTunes to play AAC.

If you have an iPod, then use AAC, otherwise just plonk it as Mp3 as per the preference panel as someone mentioned.
