Did anyone see this on BBC4 just now? One of the most interesting things I've seen about the LHC - I know enough about all this to be a little dangerous but two questions for the PH collective:

Brian Cox stated that if they don't find the Higgs Boson here then it doesn't exist. I know it's mass is predicted in theory and I assume this is because the kind of energies created by the LHC would be above the energy required to create the Higgs Boson, but what if the prediction is wrong? Is there no possibility of doubling the size of the LHC (for example) and finding it at a higher energy level or even a completely different particle?

I was intruiged about the possibility of finding 'extra dimensions' - I gather it's pretty unlikely but how would they go about detecting them?
