Some religiously influenced people will treat a pig like a piece of poo (in many cases, the pig is locked into a concrete bunker and fed human excrement) and they will then have the cheek (and ignorance) to describe a pig as a 'filthy animal'.

These religious groups that label the pig as 'unclean', was that before or after it was discovered that pigs became known to host large concentrations of parasitic ascarid worms in their digestive tract?

Despite their reputation for gluttony (and eating their young if stressed in captivity??) they are generally social and intelligent animals.

Pork tastes good.

I do agree pigs in nature aren't dirty animals at all..............

However I wouldn't have chosen a pic of one with it's nose covered in sh*t to prove the point lol.

In Israel their pig sties are on stilts so they don't touch the ground.

I was under the impression that the parasites are not the reason for the 'ban'. Humans may well taste like chicken, but (apparently) cooking human smells like cooking pork, and a hungry people might tell 'porkies' about the origin of the meat...

Don't really see the point of the thread but I was explained to by a Muslim that the reason pigs are known as 'dirty' is because they don't have a neck (really???) and so can't be drained of there blood when they are slaughtered.

One of the silliest things that I have ever heard, but then again I think the same about most religious views.
