Paypal refund?

That's me and ebay/paypal finished. I sold an electrical item on ebay and I heard nothing for 3 weeks. The item totally disppeared from my sold items listing and I didn't even have a chance to leave any feedback. Got an email out the blue that the item was faulty. The unit was PERFECT when I sent it and the new owner addmitted that it DID work when he got it but it now didn't. He raised a SNAD claim through paypal and has won. The itme has been returned to me and does not work. So, I am left out of pocket with a unit that no longer works. Is there anything I can do since the unit has been returned but is not in the same condition as it was sent?
