Program on Paul Gascoigne

Ok ok, so Paul's an absolute alcoholic but his ex-wife is literally ripping it out of him.

She cries every 5 minutes and says how he hits his kids, yet none of his children mentioned it.

Be more fair if Paul had a chance to explain his side on the program also.

To be honest I thought her and the kids came across as the bigger people and he came across as a self indulgent fk up.

Sad though, he could have been one of the true greats.

I half watched it, she came accross very badly IMO, BUT i bet she's put up with enough ste to justify it (probably).

Anyways, if she married a bloke that was beating her up, she's a dafty in the first place. He doesn't even drive a nice car!

On the contrary, to me this documentary reflected what a great job his ex-wife has done in raising those children. They appeared intelligent, practical and completely understood the 'place' their father has chosen to skulk- moreso than he obviously does.

I saw no mention of accusations with regards to child abuse..

No way? Or selling paper stories how she was beaten to a pulp etc. yet still game to go back for more. I'm sorry but the whole 'show' was summed up by the only person there with a bit of IQ, Gascoines only blood relative son - let him go and die, whatever, he has never been a dad to me.

I Picked up his sister in my cab a few years back when he was playing for M'Boro, she mentioned things about how some ordinary people could be jealous when she and other members of the family went out just because of PG fame. I suppose it comes with the territory of being a celebrity but all the same it's just a snap shot of how celebs can't live a straight forward life and must feel enclosed in their own bubble, forgoing normal freedom.
As she left I wished her and her brother all the best, she said she would get Paul to send me a signed photograph and took my address. A couple of weeks later, true to her word, the signed Photo dropped through my door.

I was surprised that it wasn't the usual tabloid journo hack but actualy quite a sensitive look at the lives of those around such a destructive personality. Clearly he has made a massive impact on his kids and their development. I must say I was impressed with Cheryl/Sheryl too, far from the identikit bottle blonde she actually appeared to be genuinely concerned that if she didn't help him no one else would.

Bit surprised by some of the comments up here, she is looking after the kids, its only fair that he pays for it ..... good job someone is responsible enough to clear up the mess left behind.

Fascinating Tele, he is clearly not a well man.
