Senspa in the New Forest - anyone been?

As per the title really, OH's 25th, and planning a nice spa type weekend somewhere not too far from Chichester/Portsmouth.

Found this hotel/spa http://www.senspa.co.uk/ and was wondering if anyone has experiences or could suggest something/somewhere else?

Never been/booked anything like this, budget is around £600, thought the 'Senspa Us Together' one on this page looked good? http://www.senspa.co.uk/template.asp?sectionid=10&...

Any tips for a successful spa weekend?

OH goes there frequently for pampering in the spa, its only 40 min from Portsmouth, slightly more from Chichester via Midhurst - never been with her, but OH and her friends rave about the place...get nagged every once in a while to invest in a weekend there....IIRC, George Best lived there for a while. My missus has been there a few times and really rates it.

Stayed at Careys Manor last friday night, and the spa was really good. If you go in after 3pm, it is £20, rather than £35 to use the hydrotherapy stuff.

The day spa rates seemed good value at something like £60 for spa entry, a treatment, and afternoon tea. We would take this option if we returned.

Aparently, nearly all of the therapists (19 of them) are Thai.

Only word of warning... individually the treatments are quite expensive.

Hotel has nice reception and lounge area. Staff were nice, friendly, and helpful.

Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable enough, although take a look at the photos online before you go as some of the decor is probably a 'generation' older than you might be used to. Paid £149 which was a sensible price for the standard.

The food in the manor restaurant was great, and definitely recommended. 3 courses with a bottle of wine was £90.

I stayed there a couple of months ago and while I think it's a bit on the pricey side, can't fault the location/service/surroundings.

Went to the Senspa with the OH a while back - Though it looks a bit ropey when you drive round the back to the Spa bit, the actual facilities there are absolutely lavish - the Hydrotherapy suite really is very nice.

Food there isn't half bad either, providing you don't mind thai!

Thanks chaps, sounds like a good'un..

Going for the 'Us Together' package on the tariffs page, it's half board, so dinner in the nice restaurant (lunch in the thai), with an hour's massage (I'm assuming there's a variety to choose from), and a facial/head massage for her/me all included for under £500.

I think this also includes the use of the hydrotherapy areas.

Is there any other treatments worth considering (Rhassoul Mud Treatment for £32.50 each?)?

Plan is to spend day one in the forest, swim/sauna late afternoon, chilled evening after dinner. Then treatments etc. day two, leave day three having nice lunch/dinner on the way back.

Sound good?

Any suggestions for things to do in this weather near Lymington?

Been there several times. Great place.

There is alot to be done around there. Beaulieu motor museum and house.

An amazing authentic Italian close to Careys Manor. Come out of the drive and go left, through the town. You hit the train line (which has a station on the right).

In the carpark for the station is where it is. Proper Italian chefs tossing pizza's in the air etc.

+1 for Il Palio 2 in Brockenhurst, great restaurant.

Sounds like a good weekend! Not too much in Brockenhurst during the winter. Lyndhurst is a few miles away and is quite a quaint town with 'non chain' cafes and shops.

I think there is a market on Saturday mornings in Lymington.
