Dishwater not working

All the electrics in my Kitchen went Pop on Monday night.
Fortunately, my friend who lives with me is a spark so last night we eliminated appliances one at a time until we found the Dishwasher was tripping everything, and the fuse had blown in the plug.
We changed the fuse, and the machine turns on ok, but when I press the program select button, nothing happens - all the lights are on but nothing happens. Another friend said it may be the Program module thats fecked?
Any ideas people, or should I just take advantage of the Sales and get a new one? If so, which model?
Current one is a Baumatic, about 3 years old.

ETA: Last night I had to do the Washing up BY HAND!! Can you imagine that?

Are you kidding, Kleendish is much better than those two, I've had mine for 55 years, and it's not broken down once.

If the dishwasher has been moved there is a chance that it's no longer completely level and a tilt sensor is stopping it from activating. Mine did the same, the lights came on but didn't 'work'. I made sure it was sitting correctly and it started working again. Bosch dishwasher by the way, this might not apply to others.

Thanks, I'm pretty sure it hasnt been moved but I'll check it out tonight.Hoppy
My Candy one (rented property, I wasn't stupid enough to buy a Candy appliance) broke after about 2 months after installation in a very similar manner to the one you're decribing.
It was indeed the circuit board... took bloody ages for the bloke to get a new one too. Make sure the sump isn't blocked though.
Parents have had Bosch/Siemens one's for years and they've always lasted at least 7 or 8 years. Current one is in its 4th year I think with no faults

I must admit, it's been a while since I added some salt, although I use the 3-in-1 tablets.
I'll check the sump tonight as well, cheers.
