What to do with my premium bonds?

Now interest rates have dropped and the prize levels have fallen, i'm wondering what I should do with my premium bonds?

Got about 5k in them so where do I stick them?

Not adverse to a small amount of risk but would like things to be fairly secure.

Any advice?

I'd keep them - prizes may be smaller but they don't go bad and ultimately you won't lose any money!

Keep hold of them I would say. Interest rates have fallen so prizes are less but then again if you stick the cash in a bank its going to earn less interest.

Just checked and I got £50 this month!
I'd say keep them where they are for now. The prize fund has reduced but so has interest everywhere as already mentioned.

Due to zero return I sold my premium bonds in March 08 and ploughed the money into a nice little share portfolio



I'd leave your cash where it is.

MI5 use them as a foolproof way of paying those that 'assist them so you won't win a big prize.

I have some my Nan got me when I was born and I've never received so much as a penny from them and I'm 40 now!

I know someone else with the full allowance - was getting about that, until recently... now down to about £50 per month.

Well I don't know the ins and outs of my parents finances, but nothing has ever been said. I doubt they will have had much in them though.
